Having an NVQ Health and Social Care qualification confirms your ability to do a job to national standards set by employers representing the whole sector of the care industry. Studying NVQ Health and Social Care will give you the chance to develop and demonstrate your knowledge, skills and abilities whether you are looking to start work, already in a job or changing career.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should be either already working as a senior care worker or have satisfactory lengths of experience in care where in the current employment there is an opportunity for acting as a team co-ordinator.
QUALIFICATION STRUCTURE
To achieve the NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, you must achieve eight units made up of four core units and four optional units (including the choice of specialist unit/route).

UNIT 31 Promote effective communication for and about individuals
UNIT 32 Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the working
environment
UNIT 33 Reflect on and develop your practice people
UNIT 34 Promote the well-being and protection of children and young people
UNIT 35 Promote choice, well-being and the protection of all individuals behaviour of
children and young people
Your workplace assessor will assess you for your practical skills in the workplace. You will also spend 3 to 6 hours per week at the Centre to complete knowledge evidence of the units and learn portfolio-building skills.
