Level 3 AET

What is the Level 3 award in
Education and Training?

The Award in Education and Training is a teaching qualification from City and Guilds. It is recognised all over the country as a first step towards teaching in post-compulsory education (students over 16).

Who is Level 3 award in Education and Training for?

AET is for new or unqualified teachers/lecturers preparing to teach in the lifelong learning sector in England. AET is also a suitable qualification for trainers, instructors and any persons looking to deliver information effectively to co-workers, volunteers or seminar attendees.

The Course Overview

Level 3 award in Education and Training (Formally PTLLS) is divided into four units with four submitted assignments and a micro teach. On completion of the course you will submit a portfolio demonstrating your professional development (through reflection) and this will also include your assignments and micro teach work with the preparation included. The units that are covered are as follows;

Roles, responsibilities and relationships in lifelong learning
Understanding inclusive learning and teaching in lifelong learning
Using inclusive learning and teaching approaches in lifelong learning
Principles of assessment in lifelong learning
Entry Requirements

All students who enter AET qualifications must have achieved qualifications equivalent to level 2 in English and Maths. Also, due to the necessity of using computers there would be an expectation of applicant to be ICT literate.

Fast Track

We offer PTLLS courses in both ‘express’ executive 4 days intensive and 6 week courses to meet YOUR needs. For companies wishing to have this delivered to their trainers/instructors we can also arrange in-house training and come to you.

Cost

The AET course cost is £400, this includes the cost of your registration, private tuition, micro teach and certificate. You also will have access to trainer support here, and can contact your marker directly.

Level 4 CET

What is Education & Training
Level 4 (Formally CTLLS) ?

 The ‘Certificate in Education and Training’ enables you to become officially qualified as an associate teacher in continuing education. This refers to a person who is teaching or training from a pre-designed curriculum. Acquiring this Certificate qualifies you for Associate Teacher, Learning & Skills (ATLS) status, and is your license to teach.

Who is Education & Training Level 4 for?

CET is for new anyone working in an associate teacher role without a recognised qualification, or planning to become an associate teacher in further, adult or continuing education. CTLLS is also a suitable qualification for trainers, instructors and any persons looking to deliver information effectively to co-workers, volunteers or seminar attendees. The course is a further addition to the initial AET programme.

The Course Overview

Education & Training Level 4 (Formally CTLLS) is made up of 160 guided learning hours and divided into ten units with a combination of teaching, teaching observations and assignments. On completion of the course you will submit a portfolio demonstrating your professional development (through reflection) and this will also include your assignments and teaching work with the preparation included. The units that are covered in CTLLS are as follows;

Level 5 DET

What is Level 5 Diploma in
Education and Training?

The ‘Diploma in Education and Training’ qualifies you as a fully Qualified Teacher, Learning & Skills (QTLS) status.

Who is Level 5 Diploma in Education
and Training (Formally DTLLS) for?

DET is for anyone working in full teaching and training role without an existing recognised qualification. This qualification is specifically for post-compulsory education or training. DTLLS is also a suitable qualification for trainers, instructors and any persons looking to deliver information effectively to co-workers, volunteers or seminar attendees. The course is a further addition to the initial AET and CET programmes. The primary difference is that this course is at a level 5 and also leads to QTLS status recognised throughout the UK.

The Course Overview

Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (Formally DTLLS) is either a six month full time course or a yearlong part time course. It is made up of a combination of guided learning hours with both written and practical assessments and is evidenced by a completed portfolio. On completion of the course you will submit a portfolio demonstrating your professional development (through reflection) and this will also include your assignments and teaching work with the preparation and observations included. The units that are covered in DET can be supplied on request.



Entry Requirements

All students who enter DET qualifications must have achieved qualifications equivalent to level 2 in English and Maths. Also, due to the necessity of using computers there would be an expectation of applicant to be ICT literate. Further to this you would need to secure a teaching/training placement and be qualified to level 3 in your teaching/training subject.

Please note that there would be a requirement to have a teaching/training placement in place prior to starting this course as there would be a requirement for a completion of 150 training/teaching hours over the course duration.
